Poland opened its borders to Germany, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia on the 13th of June, as the coronavirus pandemic in the country slows.
Under Poland's new measures, citizens of non-EU members Russia, Belarus and Ukraine are allowed to enter Poland if they are the spouse or child of a Polish citizen or have a work permit for the country. Workers from these countries will not need to complete a 14-day quarantine on arrival.
The European Commission in Poland has announced a competition "#Small steps" where you can describe your friend from another European Union country. Someone we miss and whom we cannot personally see yet. The text should be sent in the form of a report column. This is a short, condensed story about someone or something in which the author can share his opinion, reflection. Often in a funny way. The challenge is even more difficult because the column is to be written on Instagram, which also sets limits on the length of the text and has its own narrative style.
- send a text (from 1800 to 2000 characters with spaces) about a loved one living in another European Union country
- attach a photo or graphic of that person or place, items that we associate with it
- add hashtags that we would like to mark our work, among others hashtag of the country where the column's hero comes from. # małekroki
Competition entries can be sent from June 8 to July 8 this year. inclusive to the address email@example.com.
